The Level Properties Tab
The Level Properties tab is only available when a level is selected in the Job Tree. On this tab you can set the Building Class and specify the Lateral Wind Load settings to be used for the member design on the level. Lateral Wind Load settings will only apply to tall wall studs, columns, and headers.
Once you add members to the level, the building class cannot be changed without deleting the members. For more information on Building Class, see the Building Class topic.
Lateral Wind Load Design Settings
You may also set the Lateral Wind Load Design Settings for tall wall studs and wall columns.
IBC Building Code Lateral Wind Load Design
Enter the mean roof height and use the radio buttons to select the applicable exposure category (B, C, or D).
NBCC Building Code Lateral Wind Load Design
For each Level, enter the ridge and eave height, and use the radio buttons to select the applicable Wall Exposure Category (Open, Rough, or Intermediate). If you select Intermediate you will also need to enter the "Distance from Wall to Terrain Change."
